Further information on missing trekker
Hui Ju Chien was returning from Annapurna Base Camp with a guide and group of trekkers including her husband Koaij Yang. On September 15th reports say they encountered a broken bridge and decided to cross the Himku river by foot.
The river swept Hui Ju Chien away with no trace. A police team was dispatched to Ghandruk but bad weather has hampered the search on the 16th of September.
Update: The body of Hui Ju Chien was 53 days after her disappearance. Her family went to Nepal and brought her body home to Taiwan.
Hui Ju is my dear friend, she is 61 y/o not 66.
I can provide her photos, please let me know how.
I didn’t go to this trip with them, don’t know what happened then until read this page. It has been two weeks and she is missing still. The group includes her husband already back in Taiwan. Will I get further first hand information on this page? Much appreciation to your information here.
Friends in Taiwan keep prying for her.

To whom it may concern:
After 53 days my friend Hui Ju Chien’s body was found. Her husband and 2 adult children are coming to Nepal to take her home. Family and friends appreciate the people who have found her. Though it’s a very sad news but we are glad Hui-Ju is able to rest in her hometown in peace. We all able to pay respect and say good bye to her.

May her soul rest in eternal peace. Amen.
My heartfelt condolences to her family.
We sat for lunch together with her & her group at MBC. We were on our way up to ABC whilst her group was on the descent. We were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the incident…
Hi Ida, thank you for your message. I’ll pass the message to her husband. On December 23/2018, her husband had a memorial service in their home town. Hundreds of people came to pay respect. She is deeply missed by her family, friends and students. She was a very beautiful Flamingo dancer.
Hi Julie. I am sure she was a lovely person. My friends and I are so thankful that she was found.
For your information, there is a video on one of our fellow Malaysian’s IG of that fateful water crossing. I think there is a glimpse of her on the opposite bank before she went into the water after he successfully crossed.
